Children's Woodland Playground
The woodland playground was renovated with natural materials and re-opened in March 2023 by Bradford Council. The play equipment has been updated to make it more accessible for children of all ages — set among the trees, with towers, slides, swings and climbing frames.
St Ives Toad Patrol
In March and April every year, hundreds of toads emerge from hibernation on the estate and begin their annual migration to their ancestral breeding ground — which at St Ives is Coppice Pond. Sadly, many don't make it, perishing under the wheels of passing traffic while attempting to cross roads.
That's where St Ives Toad Patrol steps in. Armed with torches and buckets, volunteers head out on suitable spring nights to rescue as many toads as possible, safely transporting them to the pond to breed.
Your help could make a huge difference. Other toad patrols in the area are Riddlesden Toad Patrol, Oxenhope, Haworth and Crossroads Toad Rescue — find them on Facebook.
